Generation X — a cohort of roughly 65 million Americans — is now entering a stage of life where housing priorities begin to change.

Many Gen X households hold significant home equity and are increasingly seeking homes that simplify daily living without sacrificing quality, design or connection to community.

Rather than traditional retirement environments, this generation is drawn to places that support active lifestyles, wellbeing and social engagement.

The challenge is that housing supply has not yet evolved to meet these changing expectations.
